2025 Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This statement has been published in accordance with Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 (“the Act”). The Act requires businesses of a certain size to publish a statement setting out the steps they have taken to prevent modern slavery in their business and supply chains.

Scenius Consulting and Coaching Ltd (“Scenius”) is a professional services company offering consulting, coaching and recruitment services. Although we are not required to publish this statement under the Act, we have chosen to do so voluntarily. It expresses our ongoing commitment and reports on our financial year ending 31 May 2025.

Our governance framework is key to our approach to overseeing modern slavery risks in Scenius’s operations and supply chain.

Scenius has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not tolerate any form of slavery or human trafficking in our business operations or supply chains. We acknowledge that these are real but hidden issues in society.

Scenius is committed to protecting human rights and preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. We do this by creating and continuously improving our systems and controls. We also improve our employee’s understanding of these important issues.

We take a proactive approach by:

  • Staying vigilant: we actively monitor our supply chains for potential risks and red flags.

  • Sharing information: we are ready to support and collaborate with the UK government, regulators, and law enforcement. This is to help identify and tackle modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our supply chains are relatively simple, due to the nature of our business, and include the following broad categories:

  • Freelancers: our team of Associate consultants and coaches;

  • Technology: cloud, software, data, IT communications and equipment; and

  • Professional service providers: legal and advisory, business and strategy consultants, marketing and insurance.

We are committed to working with high quality suppliers who share ethical standards and values aligned with Scenius’s values. This includes treating customers, employees and other stakeholders fairly. Scenius takes a risk-based approach in identifying, monitoring and assessing suppliers.

We manage the risk of trafficking and slavery in the supply chain by:

  • Carefully selecting new suppliers: we exercise skill, care and diligence when considering new outsourced providers and vendors. Due to our structure, the main category of supplier is freelance professionals, whose day rates are agreed individually; all of them are above the Living Wage Foundation’s living wage and subject to contractual protection.

  • Performing due diligence: we evaluate suppliers’ policies, procedures or standards to ensure alignment with our own ethical standards and values.

If necessary, we would in future:

  • Clearly communicate our expectations: making our zero-tolerance approach clear to suppliers, contractors, and business partners.

  • Put anti-slavery clauses into contracts: to prohibit the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude.

Maintaining high standards of business conduct is crucial to Scenius. We monitor our outsourcing relationships closely. We recognise that prompt payment is essential to the cash flow of businesses of all sizes, as it is for us. It helps make sure workers are paid on time and reduces the risk of exploitation. During the year, more than 95% of suppliers’ invoices were paid within 30 days.

Scenius currently only has one employee, the Director. If this changes in the future, specific policies will be introduced to ensure we provide a workplace culture that is fair, equitable, inclusive, compassionate, and free from discrimination, and to ensure that employees are made aware of our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy and receive training as required.
